Play chess and variants online for free at the Free Internet Chess Server (FICS). On average this server has more then 1000 players online.
Next to chess you can play different wilds, Atomic, Losers, Suicide, Crazyhouse and Bughouse. FICS also has a lot of different channels where you can chat. If you just like to watch games, most of the big on the board tournaments are relayed at FICS.
